Patti Bader, the founder of the non-profit organization Soldiers Angels, is requesting help. Here is her email:
I am very sorry to report donations to Soldiers Angels is at an ALL TIME LOW.
We will not be able to effectively assist soldiers if this continues.
Please put call out to ALL Angels,
we need press, radio and TV Exposure, we need it yesterday.
Thank you for all you do,
Patti
Now, you may not know it, but there are many ways to raise donations for Soldiers Angels, besides the obvious method of sending in a personal donation (which is good!). Did you know that you can raise money for Soldiers Angels with a charity auction on Ebay? You can also register with www.buyforcharity.com , choose Soldiers Angels as your charity of choice, and whenever you shop online buy from stores listed with them. SA will get a percentage of your purchase (with no additional cost to you). They have a lot of very popular stores who participate in this program. SA also has a special partnership with GI-Bracelet.org where individual soldiers' angels may and are encouraged to resell GI Bracelets for their fund raising events and functions.
As for other efforts needed to help....well - exposure for the need is a top priority as Patti stated in her letter. Newspaper, TV, radio, blogs, you name it. If you can think of it and it will raise exposure go for it. I personally think it would be really cool to see a few NASCARS with Soldiers Angels and the logo painted on their cars when they race (donate some winnings?), or how about local races? My neighbor across the street races cars at a local track....maybe I'll have to talk to him about sticking the logo on his car.
I know what a powerful and useful organization Soldiers Angels is, and I've tried to express that here in my blog with true stories and whatnot. I'm not sure I could ever give the full picture - but let's just say that this is one organization that meets every need of our military members and their families. From airplane tickets to hotel bills, clothing and furniture to diapers, holiday presents and cards, letters and carepackages, moral support and round the clock sit-by-your-side in the hospital until your family gets here support, blankets, thermals and socks to providing armored blankets for army vehicles, babysitting and food to computers for the wounded. That's not even the half of it! This is a powerful organization dedicated to meeting needs - no BS to get in the way.
So if you can help....thank-you!!!

I mean, who else can or will charter a plane for soldier's who can't get home any other way?
Holly Aho has a letter posted from Soldiers Angels founder Patti Bader. Go over and read it and if you have any spare cash, please donate it. Remember you'll be helping our brave fighting men and women. God bless them all.
